Marram Collaborative
Dr. Emily Bretl // Founder & Creator
“Before we worked together… I was really looking for a mind besides my own to help me start to organize my systems and ideas around social media creations. It wasn't so much that I couldn't do this by myself, but that I didn't want to do it by myself! I found myself anxious when thinking about/doing social media creation, and I was hoping to work with Angela to help me with a bit of a reset, mentally and spiritually!”
Emily is a talented, passionate, earth-loving educator and artist. She is incredibly passionate about providing curriculum design, coaching and instruction for fellow educators. Her services are centered around artistry, sustainability and ecology.
Our Empowering 1:1 Session
Desiring to expand her online community and business opportunities, Emily wanted to create a plan for Instagram. She needed a plan to use Instagram as a powerful marketing tool, while honoring herself personally and creatively:
First step — groundwork: We first spent time deeply discussing who is the ideal client for Marram Collaborative. Then we focused on defining the message or “medicine” of Marram Collaborative. From this process, Emily was able to visualize and imagine the type of individual she is best to serve with her offerings.
Second step — content planning for Instagram: This part of our discussion addressed Emily’s desire to create professional connections while honoring herself as a creative human being. We spent time outlining the communication piece and created a list of resonance points. From there, we developed a strong visual and engagement strategies.
Third Step — account profile refresh: We reviewed Emily’s Instagram account to see where simple improvements could be made. The goal was to make it clear about what she offers through Marram Collaborative. This helps to distinguish her account in a professional way.
Fourth step— implementation plan and process: We created an outline for a possible posting plan from all that we discussed. The implementation notes are split into two sections; one for Emily to use right now and one for later (when she has more time to commit to social media). This part of our discussion gave Emily tangible support and everything we strategized, felt accessible to her.
Deliverables
Complete, simple and thorough Session Notes: Our entire session was documented so that Emily can refer to them at any point. These notes are organized into sections so that Emily can easily access the information she needs, when she is implementing what we discussed.
Session Video Recording: Upon Emily’s request, the Zoom session was recorded. Emily was sent a private link, so that she can refer to our discussion for more support throughout the implementation process.
“After we worked together… The feedback you gave, as well as the templates and organized ideas, are so helpful! I was able to apply some of them immediately, which left me feeling excited and empowered. It was really meaningful to have someone provide constructive feedback on what they see going well with my IG already. I also appreciated how you made it clear that some of the ideas we discussed could be implemented right away, while others might take a while to start using...and both were okay! You've given me ways to start organizing my creative ideas so that I can feel a bit more at ease when creating and planning for social media.”
More kind words from Emily:
“I know that you usually work with product-related projects and that this session may have been a little different. I loved the entire session, and I found it very valuable for several reasons. You showed up having clearly looked at my IG in some detail. You had positive examples to share, which helped buoy me!
You also offered clear frameworks and ideas for both using my strengths, but also to push me out of my comfort zone. Organizing by "concept" is not something that I had thought about so succinctly before. The way you visually organized it in the session notes (in a table by day with descriptions) is such a simple but USEFUL tool! I also found it ridiculously useful to clarify the message and audience. I know this may sound obvious, but it's been a while since I did that, especially one on one with someone who is also a business owner!
The most important part for me was that you were patient and calm; I felt listened to and respected! I sometimes feel like in this modern world we are all supposed to know what to do with social media as business owners...you made me feel okay about still learning and just trying things out! In the future, I would love to learn more from you about how to visually share a service (vs. a product) because I think you'd be genius at helping make the abstract concrete for nature-based service providers. The typed-up/shared notes and recording are awesome! I keep referring to the notes. Thank you for that!”
Thank you, Emily for allowing me to be part of your business journey! Wishing you abundant success with Marram Collaborative!
